Mmegi Online :: Masisi thanks Bangwato for VP position

Masisi was speaking during a Kgotla meeting that was held on Friday.

“I am so blessed to be the VP of this country as it turns 50 years and it is such because of the support you have shown me. I appreciate you today because a large number of those who agreed upon my chance as the VP came from here.

“I appreciate you because some people who are not from this area like to accuse you of being selfish saying that you want everything to be yours.

However, I disagree because if that was the case, you wouldn’t have made me what I am since I’m not from this area,” he said.

He further noted that he is thankful towards Bangwato for giving the country a hard worker, a true leader that leads with humbleness and dignity in President Ian Khama, who strives to build a united nation and empower his people.

“I am not saying all these praises because I am his Vice President. Other nations attest to that. They speak highly of him that he is a President of note. Today we are shining as leaders, we are fit and happy including those in opposition because of his leadership,” he added.

that to honour the President’s true leadership on the country’s 50th independence, he will be honoured with a big star for being one of the greatest leaders. He said he was blessed to be the one to conduct the honour.

In response, Bangwato morafe commended the honour that will be bestowed upon the President saying it dignifies them, knowing that their chief and state President is being recognised for his great leadership.

A visibly elated Keotogetse Kelemotswe said that they were very happy for the great honour saying it will give them dignity as Bangwato that their son is representing them very well.

“September 30 will be the day that we will forever cherish as Bangwato since it will mark the day that our chief will be given the biggest star in honour of his legacy. This will also give us dignity knowing that we have a great leader who is recognised by his people,” Kelemotswe said.

Tshepo Keipiditse however, said that it seems like the honour is always given to those living in Gaborone and also those in political circles, as there are other great leaders out there who have brought massive change in the country that deserve such honour.
