SEROWE: Vice President (VP) Mokweetsi Masisi told Serowe residents that Government intends to construct a network of roads covering 25.8km through Economic Stimulus Package (ESP).

Masisi said this when addressing a kgotla meeting thronged by multitudes of people recently. He commended leaders, both in Serowe and Gaborone, for coming up with “constructive ideas” on time in driving the construction, which will begin soon. Masisi said that the kind of roads that will be constructed would be of extra quality since they will not be the normal tarred roads common in the country. “The roads will be constructed in a special manner using the inter-locking bricks of high quality befitting the international standard. This will be the kind that we only see in developed countries. Furthermore, it will save one third of money that could have been used in tarred roads,” he said. He added: “About P115 million could have been used if we were going to construct tarred roads however, with this kind of material about P50 million will only be used”.

The VP noted that most of the materials that are going to be used during the construction would be procured from the companies in the village. He however warned that if those given tenders do not supply quality products or meet the standard, the government would not hesitate to take the business somewhere else.  “So this road has been designed by Batswana engineers, it will be constructed by them and we expect to see its completion in a period of 12 months,” he said. Among the roads to be built are Mogatsapoo road, the one passing through Makolo community hall and the route along Tshekedi Primary School staff houses.

To all those who feel their contestant should have won ahead of Anicia for whatever reason, hardly; the judges found Anicia to be the best among the best, so desist from disrespecting our newly crowned queen on social media or anywhere else, for that matter! Each of the 10 beautiful young women had supporters...
