Northern Schools Dominate BOSSA/IDM Fair

Schools from the northern Botswana continued their dominance over their southern counterparts at this year’s IDM-sponsored Botswana Social Studies Association (BOSSA) national fair held in Ramotswa over the weekend.

The students, both from junior (JSS) and seniors secondary schools (SSS), competed in categories including quiz, model, written projects, charts, essays and debate under the theme,  ‘Human Resource Development- A Drive Towards A Proud and United Nation’. Batanani JSS from Mapoka, Nata SSS, Rutwang JSS from Tonota, Mater Spei College, Masunga SSS, Sefhare JSS from Tswapong, Montsamaisa JSS from Francistown, Maejane JSS from Sekakangwe and Dukwi JSS were some of the northen schools that made their presence felt scooping awards. On written projects under the JSS, Sefhare  emerged champions while Sir Seretse Khama JSS and Batanani scoped position two and three respectively. Matshekge SSS from Bobonong  were crowned champions in senior category with Masunga and Nata coming behind respectively.

In the quiz category under JSS, Gaborone emerged winners through Bokamoso JSS while Maejani and Montsamaisa scooped position two and three respectively. Masunga won the senior category ahead of Naledi SSS and Seepapitso SSS.  The charts awards were based on the basics of those who aligned their drawings with the fair’s theme and in that category Boitshoko JSS beat Kutlwano JSS and Batanani respectively to emerge JSS category winners while Naledi beat Goodhope SSS and Nata for the senior championship.
