Young judokas who took part in the South African Open International Judo competition held at the Carnival City, Johannesburg recently brought home 15 medals.

A group of young Judokas (7-12 years of age) from registered judo clubs in Botswana, coached by Sensei Willie Paulsen, travelled to South Africa and did extremely well.

“They train twice a week, and more when close to competitions by a committed, enthusiastic and qualified judo coach, Willie Paulsen. The children did not represent Botswana as a country. The parents of these judokas funded their trip to South Africa, and are happy to support them and see them compete at international levels,” team manager, Frida Brahmbhatt-Deurwaarder said.
