Gaborone quits BNF?

Tlokweng Member of Parliament and former Botswana National Front vice-president Olebile Gaborone is reported to have jumped ship and joined the ruling Botswana Democratic Party.

Gaborone was linked to a move to the BDP prior to the BNF congress, which was held in Mochudi in July. The Congress ushered in Duma Boko and his campaign team, which Gaborone did not support. However at the time Gaborone denied planning to quit the BNF.
Yesterday, Gaborone denied yet again that he had quit the BNF for the BDP.

BNF president Duma Boko said he had received no communication from Gaborone to the effect that he was quitting. However he acknowledged receiving information from some BNF members to the effect that a councillor in Gaborone's constituency had been sending SMSs to members informing them that Gaborone has now officially resigned from the BNF.
