The Village Magistrate Court has remanded a 24-year-old man accused of stabbing a security guard to death on Friday, after allegedly believing the deceased and another were laughing at him.

Thabo Tladi appeared before court for the first time yesterday facing a single count of murder in connection with the crime allegedly committed in Phase 2. Prosecutor, Christinah Ramokwena stunned the court with her version of the events of Friday night. She said the accused killed the security guard in cold blood without provocation.

“The accused was driving into the compound and the deceased, in the company of another, were allegedly chatting and laughing at their own affairs. The accused then allegedly felt the two were laughing at him. “The accused alighted from the car, took a knife and stabbed the man to death. This he did without any provocation,” Ramokwena told the court.
