Franchise cricket comes to Botswana

One of the missing links in local cricket is finally here following the introduction of a six team franchise tournament. The T20 Blast tournament will see Mogoditshane Mustangs, Tlokweng Tigers, Phakalane Panthers, G-West Gladiators, Broadhurst Blasters and Notwane Ninjas compete.

Gaborone Cricket Club (GCC), an affiliate of the Botswana Cricket Association (BCA) has organised the franchise league. The league will only be active in Gaborone as it is a GCC initiative. Competition started during the Easter Holidays with a number of games taking place.

The franchise teams have already found sponsors from different companies.
