Atlas Mara ties up P2.2bn facility for BancABC

BancABC Botswana and other subsidiaries are set to benefit from a $200 million (P2.2 billion) credit facility that parent company, Atlas Mara has arranged to deepen trade in the United States of America and Africa. The subsidiaries include Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Through the agreement that was between Atlas Mara and ExWorks, African businesses are supposed to buy goods made in the US while accelerating Atlas Mara’s growth strategy and capacity to contribute meaningfully to the communities they operate in.

Atlas Mara acquired 95.8 percent in BancABC’s operations in Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique and Tanzania in 2014.
