Keetshabe is the new DPP director

Former counsel general at the office of the president (OP), Abraham Keetshabe, is the new boss at the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP). He succeeds Leonard Sechele who died last year after a struggle with kidney failure.

The Permanent Secretary to the President, Carter Morupisi, announced that Keetshabe will serve as the new DPP boss.

Keetshabe, who is also a former deputy attorney general, was appointed to the OP after he allegedly controversially resigned from the civil service amid speculation that he was unhappy about being overlooked for a more senior position. However, in a rare turn of events, he then withdrew his resignation and was appointed the Counsel General at the OP.
