Mabote optimistic of league title

The Cerliat Botswana Table Tennis Association (BTTA) league’s defending champion, Bonolo Mabote believes he can retain his title despite a luckless campaign. Mabote is enduring a poor season as he sits in third position behind Thobo Matlhatsi and Kola Modisaotsile.

“Mathematically, I’m still in the race. I just have to win all my remaining games and hope that my opponents lose,” he said.

The country’s number one ranked player said it was more difficult to compete in the league than in tournaments due to the amount of time given to prepare for the game.
