Salary talks between trade unions and the government have been thrown into doubt after BOPEU rushed to the Industrial Court late Friday in an urgent application that seeks to throw BOFEPUSU out of the Public Service Bargaining Council (PSBC) because, BOPEU argues, BOFEPUSU’s presence in the bargaining council is illegitimate.

Foremost in their  urgent prayers, BOPEU seeks the Industrial Court to declare that BOFEPUSU is not entitled to  be admitted  into the membership of  the Bargaining Council.

The urgent application seeks Court to declare that only trade unions which are recognised by the government of Botswana are entitled to be admitted into the Bargaining Council.
