Business as usual for Highlanders after Rollers heroics

“We need to collect as many points as possible to avoid relegation,” he told Mmegi Sport.

“My main worry now is to be consistent. But I am confident we will avoid relegation,” he added.

Ratlou applauded the players for last week’s win, but reminded them they still have a challenge ahead.

He said they should not be carried away after last weekend’s win.

“Since we took over, we have instilled a professional approach,” said Ratlou, who is assisted by Kabo Dintwe. The coach said he is happy with the players’ performance.

He added that experienced players have even made it a lot easier for the young stars.

He has started using Tshepo Molefhe although he has been coming from the bench.

The team’s captain Agisanyang Ramaabya among others, has also been an integral part of the team while new signing Emmanuel Thakadu has fitted in well.

they managed to beat  Rollers, Ratlou said Mapalastina walked right into their trap.

He said their plan was to stop Rollers from playing in the midfield. The intention was to stifle Maano Ditshupo and Lawrence Majawa.

But it is Rollers who bypassed their own midfield.

“They made things easier for us,” Ratlou said.  The coach said Rollers, in a desperate bid to get goals, pumped balls forward effectively bypassing their midfield.

Ratlou said the win did not come as a surprise.

For his part, Tshepo Molefhe said if they focus as a team they could avoid relegation, adding they need the management’s help.

Team captain, Agisanyang Ramaabya said their past dismal performance has taught them a lot.

He emphasised that their plan is to win most of their remaining matches.

BR Highlanders’ next assignment is against BDF XI at the Serowe Sports Complex over the weekend.
