FRANCISTOWN: Second-placed Sua Flamingoes have failed to capitalise on log leaders, Mahalapye Hotspurs' slip over the weekend. AmaHot could only manage a 1-1 draw against TASC leaving the title race wide open. Flamingoes did not take advantage as they could only muster a stalemate away to GNT.

Flamingoes interim coach, Jacob Galebue said the second round is the toughest and an away draw is a welcome result. “This is our first game of the year. It was always going to be difficult. The players showed rustiness and lack of match fitness but we welcome the result, as a draw is always a good result away. All the teams have upped their game in the second round, but we will come back,” Galebue said.

“We are still in a good position. We are calm and our focus has not changed. We have beefed up our squad with experienced players and we are still vying for automatic promotion.” His GNT counterpart, Edward Leposo was satisfied with the outcome.
