No funds for Gabz roads

Road users in Gaborone city will have to wait a bit longer for the city’s internal roads to be fixed. Although the Gaborone City Council (GCC) has tried its best to look for funds to fix the bad internal roads, which have reached their life span, the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRA) seems to be reluctant to release GCC funds.

GCC had gone to meet President Ian Khama for the council to be given extra P200 million to repair roads through transport levy.

“We have a communication from the Ministry of Transport and Communication which shows that they had given us the money through our Ministry. Surprisingly last year November, we received a correspondence from our Ministry informing us that they now want to distribute  the funds to other  councils.
