Opposition cooperation talks to start in earnest

It is a matter of time before the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) and Botswana Congress Party (BCP) representatives meet for the long-awaited cooperation talks.

All the parties have revealed that they are eager to commence the talks as soon as possible. Yesterday UDC head of elections Tapiso Kgosikoma told Mmegi that they are waiting for all parties to report to duty after the festive season so that they could prepare for the engagement.

“All parties are ready for the talks to begin,” he said. “At least we have been cooperating in by-elections.  We are still to sign a Memorandum of Agreement on the by-elections.”
