Bus accident claims one life, six in critical condition

A 67-year-old man died on the spot following a horrific bus accident in Serowe on Sunday morning. According to the police, six passengers are in critical condition at the Sekgoma Memorial Hospital.

Although investigations are underway, the police said they suspect the bus driver might have lost control of the bus.

“The accident occurred at around 10.05am, along the Makolojwane river,” confirmed Eric Balondi, the traffic boss for the North Central Division. Balondi said the 65-seater public transport bus was enroute to Maun from Gaborone. The suspicion is that after the driver lost control of the bus, it hit two electric poles before reeling off to a nearby tree.
