The inaugural Miss Culture and Peace International Botswana winner, Patience Serumola left for Mexico on Friday to take part in the international leg of the competition.

After beating 11 other contestants in the national pageant, she will now compete against other contestants in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico from October 17-25.  Serumola, who was crowned in March, has been working with SOS children. “I have been travelling around the country as a motivational speaker and I held seminars in schools and villages,” she said.

Serumola told Showtime that she will do her best to bring home the crown. “This crown represents the beauty of Botswana, which is botho (dignity) and discipline,” she said.
