LOBATSE: It has emerged that the newly appointed Assistant Attorney General, Bongi Radipati, has finally owned up to his mistakes and agreed to settle the disputed amount of P107,682.39 with Barclays Bank.

While the nation was still waiting for the case against Radipati to go for trial, his attorneys were busy negotiating an out-of-court settlement with the Bank. Lobatse High Court judge, Singh Walia, made an order after both parties agreed that Radibati would settle the disputed amount, preventing the matter to go for trial.

"The Judgement is hereby entered against the defendant to the value of P107,682. 39" court order reads.  Radipati was also ordered to pay the cost of appearance by Barclays Bank attorneys. The case was due to commence yesterday and continue for trial today.  Radibati was accused of financial embezzlement at the time he resigned from the University of Botswana in 2007.  Radipati allegedly channelled P107,682.39 to his personal account when he had to clear an outstanding balance with Barclays Bank.  It is understood that Radipati as a UB employee, acquired a loan facility from Barclays Bank through the UB Loan Guarantee Scheme to pay for a Mercedes Benz valued at P130,000. It is understood that when Radipati resigned, UB used his benefits to clear the balance.  It is alleged that in December 18, 2007, UB issued a cheque amounting to P107,682.39 in full settlement to Barclays Bank.

Congratulations Anicia Gaothuse!

The contest had 10 beautiful young girls as finalists and unfortunately only one could wear the crown. The judges picked Anicia Gaothuse. To all those who feel their contestant should have won ahead of Anicia for whatever reason, hardly; the judges found Anicia to be the best among the best, so desist from disrespecting our newly crowned queen on social media or anywhere else, for that matter! Each of the 10 beautiful young women had supporters...
