Suspect says police stole his money

A man accused of stealing at least P70,000 in cash has in turn accused Gaborone West police of beating him up and stealing the P5,000 he was carrying when he was arrested.

Santani Kolane made the allegations when appearing before Village Magistrate, Priscilla Ditlhong, yesterday.

The 30-year-old and two others are accused of stealing P70,000 and a Blackberry handset from one Michael Seleke at the Gaborone West shopping centre on July 4.
