Body builders clash in Gaborone Classic

Body builders will clash this Saturday at the second Gaborone Classic Body Building contest to be held in Mogoditshane.

The inaugural contest was held last year. It will feature three categories including junior Under-23, senior body builders which has 15 contestants respectively and bikini division which has five contestants.  “Judges will be looking for well conditioned, balanced and symmetrical physics. This will be a fascinating clash of the titans. It’s a must see experience with the best bodies in Africa on display,” said Edward Maloiso, the director of Gaborone Classic.

Stiff competition is expected in the senior body builders category where the defending champion, Gontse Sechele and Mr Iron man champion, Champion Mbewe are expected to be frontrunners. The two have competed in contests such as the World Championships. Maloiso said bodybuilding has shown growth in the country in the past couple of years. “Bodybuilding in Botswana has grown over the last couple of years. This is evident in the junior category which has the biggest line-up in our history,” he said.
