Tshoswane finally buried as his 16 children boycott the funeral

A High Court in Gaborone on Saturday ruled that Laughter Tshoswane, 58, of Letlhakeng be buried in Gaborone. The burial, which was scheduled for Saturday, took place a day later.

The ruling, made by Justice Tshepo Motswagole, favoured Tshoswane’s mother, the 81-year-old Mariam Tshoswane, against the dead man’s children whose mothers never married him.

On Saturday, Tshoswane’s children stopped the funeral proceedings with a court order because they wanted to bury their father in Letlhakeng. His body was therefore returned to the mortuary while the family fought for it in court.
