Lotlamoreng retained the constituency in a hard fought battle, following the UDC’s James Mathokgwane quitting seven months into the job for a high paying job at SPEDU.At exactly 12 midnight, Monday, almost 48 hours since the polls had started, Lotlamoreng took the seat with 1553 of the ballots still to be counted. He had comfortably raced over the line, collecting 5376, while his main rival Molale was trailing behind with 3808 votes and Maruping tagging way behind with a paltry 308 votes. While the counting was going on, thousands of UDC supporters who had been waiting at the counting centre at Goodhope Secondary since Saturday broke into song and dance as their chief and now MP entered the hall with the party president, Duma Boko.
