Police officers in court for traffic bribes

FRANCISTOWN: Receiving bribe money amounting to R1,000 from a motorist has landed two police officers in court on charges of official corruption.

Obed Gilly Bodigelo (38) and Kgotlaetsile Setsiba (37) appeared before the Francistown magistrate on Tuesday to face the corruption charges.

The officers, who are employed at the Tonota Police Station, are alleged to have received the R1,000 from Noah Mtala while patrolling the A1 road this month. This was done to avoid laying charges against Mtala for overtaking at a wide continuous line near Shashe River in Tonota.
