Gumbo faces censure after outburst

FRANCISTOWN: Mochudi Centre Chiefs' coach, Rahman Gumbo, faces possible censure after a verbal spat with match officials during his team's 1-0 loss to TAFIC on Saturday.

Gumbo was shown a red card by referee Omphile Phuthego for the outburst 10 minutes from time with his side trailing 1-0.

In the 80th minute, the ball rolled out of play, and in frustration, the Chiefs' coach kicked it away. The referee approached and cautioned him, but a heated argument ensued and subsequently, Phuthego sent him off for the aggressive behaviour. Before he was given his marching orders, it was apparent that Gumbo, who led Township Rollers to a league and cup double last season, would snap. His charges were under pressure from a much improved TAFIC which was searching for its first win in five matches.
