Tshekedi, Mokaila reject Masisi

Though sailing through to beat five other candidates, Masisi failed to get the backing of President Ian Khama’s brother and minister of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism Tshekedi Khama, who endorsed Tebelelo Seretse. Also snubbing Masisi was the minister of Mineral, Energy and Water Affairs, Kitso Mokaila, who supported Ramadeluka Ndelu Seretse.

Also defying the norm was Minister Dorcus Makgato, who took a principled position of backing a fellow woman, Tebelelo Seretse. Makgato is BDP Women’s League chairperson. Also not on the vice-president’s camp were the assistant minister of Education Moiseraele Master Goya and minister of Lands and Housing, Prince Maele
