Guma vs Makgato: Things will never be the same

After a surprise but high profile involvement of former chairman of Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), Samson Guma at the weekend Women’s Wing congress and elections in Lobatse, insiders say fresh battle-fronts have been opened in the ruling party.

Against the wishes of the influential Guma, Health Minister, Dorcus Makgato defied the odds to become chair of the BDP Women’s Wing over the weekend.

One party insider alleged that Guma’s camp went all out to pay for accommodation expenses for some of the delegates to ensure that they did not interact with Makgato’s team. “We have never seen anything like this.
