BOFEPUSU wants Public Service Act consultations

Spokesperson for Botswana Federation of Public Sector Unions (BOFEPUSU) Tobokani Rari says thorough consultations should be done before the amendment of the Public Service Act is undertaken.

With announcement that the Directorate of Public Service Management (DPSM) will be reviewing its Public Service Act No 30 of 2008, Rari said the review should be done in good faith with the employee in mind.

In an interview, Rari noted that DPSM should not shy away from engaging the union through consultations, especially since certain provisions within the Act directly affected the public service workers.
