Under attack: Bank Gaborone has notified clients of the circulating fraudulent e- mails

Bank Gaborone says it has triggered anti-fraud systems in response to circulating fraudulent e-mails, purportedly sent out on behalf of the bank asking clients to update their banking details on line.

The widely circulated emails are actually from criminal hackers who phish for credit card and bank account numbers, passwords and other financial information on customers’ cellphones, computers and tablets.

According to the marketing and communications manager of the bank, Sandra Mokobi they have notified clients of the existence of the fraudulent e-mails, via its website, and so far there has been no reported cases of customers suffering financial losses.
