Convicted South African drug trafficker, Dewald Steyn de Beer has been granted bail pending appeal for his sentence by the High Court.

The 23-year-old appeared yesterday before Judge Singh Walia, barely a month after being convicted and sentenced for drug trafficking.

Giving bail, Walia said he had made some observations regarding the trial magistrate’s judgment. But before granting bail, the Judge raised concerns about the convict.
