The dates initially proposed for the International Women’s Group (IWG) conference on women and sport will be revised as they clash with the 2018 soccer World, secretary general of the organisation, Game Mothibi said.

Botswana was awarded the right to host the IWG for four years in February this year. The conference was scheduled to be held on June 14 to June 17 2018 but could change due to the fact that it will clash with the World Cup. “The dates were proposed at the time of bidding but they will be revised as we realised they clash with football World Cup 2018. Proposed month is May and it is yet to be confirmed by the IWG committee in April 2015,” Mothibi said yesterday.

The conference is expected to take place at Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC) with a total number of 1200 delegates expected.
