A commission on the cause of the royal impasse, instituted by President Ian Khama, to consult Bakgatla on resolutions and recommendations for government is almost complete.

The commission will have a meeting at the main Kgotla in Mochudi today to finalise its business, where the chair, Bangwaketse Paramount Chief Malope Gaseitsiwe, will address the tribe and brief it on his trip to South Africa.  According to a Kgatleng kgosana who preferred anonymity, the commission has met with Kgafela’s mother Mma-Seingwaeng, dikgosana in Kgatleng and other individuals.  The commission also met with Kgafela, who did not take kindly to Kgosi Phokontsi Seeletso of Mmadinare questioning him on his plans to return to Botswana.

Kgafela was accompanied by his uncles, the banned deputy chief Bana Sekai and his right-man Ramono Pilane, who is currently staying with him in Rustenburg.
