Mmegi Online :: Commission on Kgatleng royal impasse to end

The commission will have a meeting at the main Kgotla in Mochudi today to finalise its business, where the chair, Bangwaketse Paramount Chief Malope Gaseitsiwe, will address the tribe and brief it on his trip to South Africa.  According to a Kgatleng kgosana who preferred anonymity, the commission has met with Kgafela’s mother Mma-Seingwaeng, dikgosana in Kgatleng and other individuals.  The commission also met with Kgafela, who did not take kindly to Kgosi Phokontsi Seeletso of Mmadinare questioning him on his plans to return to Botswana.

Kgafela was accompanied by his uncles, the banned deputy chief Bana Sekai and his right-man Ramono Pilane, who is currently staying with him in Rustenburg.

According to sources, the reason why Kgafela takes the commission lightly and opts to personally meet with Khama is due to the backing of relative and South

African business tycoon, Patrice Motsepe.

Malope, furious that this information has reached this newspaper, said that he is not in a position to discuss the commission’s business when Mmegi contacted him for a comment.   “I cannot disclose who the commission met, but what I can assure you is that we are just about to complete our task and report back to the President,” explained Malope.

He, however, confirmed that he would be addressing a kgotla meeting in Mochudi today.  “Tiro e ya motsubung.  Tota ke mang ene yo o go bolelelang dikgang tsa commission?” asked Malope.  The commission comprises of five members including Malope as chairperson and Kgosi Phokontsi Seeletso of Mmadinare as deputy chairperson.

Other members are deputy permanent secretary in the local government ministry, Molefi Keaja, Director of Tribal Administration, Tumelo Seboko and Nametso Mothoka.
