Folklore artist, Benson Phuthego, mesmerised audiences once again with his fusion of poetry and music at a gala dinner held at Tlotlo Hotel and Conference Centre, Gaborone on Friday.

Singing from the heart, Phuthego opened his performance with a voice laced with inspiration from South Africa’s Mzwaki Mbuli’s artistry, which submerged the audience in devotion.

The fully-packed conference room had music lovers in rapture right from the beginning of the performance as Phuthego took to the stage with a rendition of, Melodi Ya Lla, popularised by South African mbaqanga group, Mahlathini and Mahotella Queens.
