Sevens team preparations get underway

The national seven’s rugby team kicked off their preparations for the Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) tournament with a training camp in Gaborone. The tournament takes place in Zimbabwe at the end of the month.

The team has already participated in two tournaments in South Africa in preparations for the CAR tournament. Coach, Shine Seabe Gabatadiwe, told The Monitor Sport that the team leaned a lot from the tournament and expect the players to use the skills acquired when the CAR tournament takes place this month.

Botswana is in Pool A alongside South Africa, Madagascar, Tunisia, Zambia, and Senegal. Pool B has Kenya, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Nigeria, Namibia and Ivory Coast. The tournament brings together 12 top-ranked teams in Africa.
