Judge Denies UDC, BCP, Full Costs

In the opinion of High Court Judge Justice Michael Leburu, the so-called constitutional case brought by the Attorney General and the Botswana Democratic Party was simple and straight forward the respondents, the two opposition Parties did not have to bring a strong contingent of lawyers in their teams like they did.

When deciding on costs of the  case, Judge Leburu felt the matter was so light even a small team would still have buried the Domkgrag and Attorney General lawyers.

So convinced about the matter was the judge and his panel of two  other judges (Justice Walia and Justice Tau) that  he  denied  the rest of the heavy contingent of defence lawyers the opportunity to  claim costs of the case, limiting the claim to only two lawyers per team.
