Gospel musician, Kabelo Eric has been named KORA 2014/15 goodwill ambassador, joining 52 other representatives across the continent tasked to facilitate their respective countries’ fight against the Ebola virus.

The 2014 edition of the prestigious evening that rewards the best artists of the continent will no longer take place on December 14 as earlier planned after the steering committee expressed its solidarity towards the Ebola affected-countries.   Sierra-Leone, Cape Verde and Guinea were primarily the affected countries. “Although everything is ready for … the ceremony, we are obliged to postpone it to a later date considering the various reports from the WHO (World Health Organisation) mentioning the ceaselessly increasing number of victims,” KORA organisers said recently. South Africa, hosts of ‘Africa’s Grammy’, has already announced the closure of its borders to people coming from countries affected by the virus.

In an effort to help fight the deadly virus, KORA has picked 53 ambassadors across the continent with Eric representing Botswana.
