BDP in mega flop as Khama pulls stunts

If the turn out at the mega rally of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) on Saturday was a gauge for the party’s popularity, the ruling party is clearly losing its umph in the capital city.

The mega rally for the Gaborone region starring President Ian Khama  was a total flop. This was evidenced by empty spaces at the Maharaja open space. Gaborone has five constituencies; Gaborone Central, Gaborone North, Gaborone South, Gaborone Bonnington South and Gaborone Bonnington North.

Over 24 artists including crowd puller, Vee, entertained the crowd the whole day into the evening in what was expected to be a grand show of might. Plus, the BDP chose the spot well, being adjacent to the main road where all passers-by could see and wonder, and join in.
