Lets Rise Above Pettiness

There is a wise Setswana saying that attempts to beat moral sense into a man who retaliates against foolish actions. In fact, there are many such sayings in the Tswana culture. They warn that if you engage a fool, you end up looking like one and being seen as the fool.

What do you do if, while busy sweeping your yard in the morning wearing a traditional skirt, a mad person suddenly and out of nowhere pulls down and snatches away the skirt, leaving you naked in your yard?

Do you quickly run after the mad person, in all your nakedness in an effort to retrieve your skirt, or opt for the wiser plan to run into your house to find something to wear?
