Barrows, ASA in stalemate

National basketball team ace, Churchill Ofentse Barrows has returned to the country without a deal after a stalemate with his suitors Atletico Sportif Avecio, an Angolan professional basketball club.

Barrows has been to Angola twice this year in search of a lucrative deal with one of the oil rich country’s topflight clubs.

His first attempt early this year ended unsuccessfully after the club recommended he put on some weight before returning for another trial in September. And after impressing this time around, the club demanded he stay on for the rest of their pre-season, something which would have affected his school programme.
