The much anticipated Basketball All Star games attracted more than thousand supporters who came to witness the country’s players showcasing their skills at the UB courts.

Botswana Basketball Association (BBA) public relations officer James Kalebwe was equally surprised by the huge turn up at the event. He said the league games usually have low turn out and therefore did not expect such crowd at the All Star event. Kalebwe said the event has been used to create awareness about Basketball and hope they will attract big crowds in league matches as well.

The two-day event comprised of competitions such as dunking, three point shoot out and All Star matches for both women and men. Players entertained the crowds with some of the finest basketball skills. The highlight of the event was the dunking competition where players displayed their stylish dunking moves reminding spectators of former National Basketball Association (NBA) stars like Dennis Rodman. Churchill Barrows won the dunking competition after he successfully completed his session. He also managed to win the three point shoot out.
