President issues writs of elections

President Ian Khama has issued the writs for next month’s general elections. The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) chief election officer, Dintle Rapoo said the President issued the writs yesterday.

He said Khama directed that nominations for parliamentary elections for all the 57 constituencies be held on September 25.

Rapoo said they would forward the writs of elections to returning officers so that they can communicate to the people.
