Tensions rose high during the launch of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) Parliamentary hopeful, Gilbert Mangole on Sunday as politicians made fodder of the Botswana Democratic Party for what they said was its hostility to their kgosikgolo Kgafela Kgafela.

The issues around Bakgatla bogosi affected every mokgatla and no one should pretent to be disinterested. “Whether you are related to the chief or not, all must jointly fight for Kgafela. Remember that he is our chief”, he said amidst ululations.

The Parliamentary candidate for Mochudi East Isaac Davids did not waste time when he took the floor and urged Bakgatla to do anything to protect their chief. He said all Bakgatla must join hands and fight for Kgafela, adding that all Bakgatla were related to Kgafela.
