The Member of Parliament for Lentsweletau, Moeng Pheto, has claimed harassment by the Directorate on Intelligence and Security (DIS) and told his supporters on Saturday that they are always following him around his constituency.

During his launch at Lentsweletau as an independent candidate for Lentsweletau/Mmopane constituency, Pheto said he has observed of late that every time he fulfills his duties as an area MP, going around the village addressing residents the DIS are always in the midst snooping around and even taking pictures while hiding in their cars. He told his cheerful supporters that he was surprised that the DIS agents are sent to follow him around his constituency adding that he was not aware of what they are looking for or expecting him to say.

“I realised that I am often followed by the DIS agents and I recognised that they were taking pictures of some of the speakers I normally travel with therefore I decided to return the favour and take their pictures too,” he said.
