Mmegi Online :: Kelebale frustrated at Gunners

Kelebale is ready to leave the Lobatse giants because he does not understand why he has not been playing regularly. What makes matters worse is that he is not getting any explanations from the coach, Daniel 'Chicco' Nare. "Sometimes I get the chance to start the game and when I think I have done really well and hoping to continue playing in the next game, I find myself on the bench.

"Sometimes after a couple of games on the bench, I would find myself back in the starting line up," he said. He pointed out that this leaves him in limbo about his role and performance in the team. "I do not get any explanation from the coach as to why I am in and out of the team.

"This is now killing my confidence," Kelebale told Mmegi Sport yesterday. "At first when I asked him (coach) why I am not playing regularly, he reminded me that I have just come from an injury that kept me out of action for a very long time and I understood. But at the moment, I am really not sure what the reason is now that I am fit and I healed a long time ago."

He has realised that he must move to another team to play regularly based on his performance. Although he still has a contract with Mapantsula, Kelebale said that if they agree to release him, he will find a team for himself.

He said that if there is communication from the coach why he is not playing regularly, he will know where his weak points are and he will

try to correct.

His manager, Sam Kelebale, shared the same sentiments. Sam told Mmegi Sport that his client, who also happens to be his brother, deserves better treatment from Gunners. He said the fact that his brother does not get any convincing explanation as to why he is not playing regularly leaves the striker frustrated and unsure whether he still fits in the team's plans. This leaves them with no choice but to seek greener pastures.

Meanwhile, Nare told Mmegi Sport that Kelebale is still very much in his plans. He explained that he would have long released the player if he had no use for him. He pointed out that coaching as a career is a difficult job especially when someone is in charge of a team of Gunners' calibre.

He added that it becomes even more difficult when one of the players feels marginalised in team selection. Nare pointed out that Kelebale has not told him anything. He said he is happy with the player's contribution but he can still do much better.

He said that Kelebale should ask him why he is in and out of the team. He pointed out that he has always told his players to feel free to talk to him about anything.

Kelebale picked up a horrible injury while on a training camp with the national team and this kept him out of action for a very long time. At the time, he was still playing at Nico United. He moved to Gunners two years ago in the hope of playing regularly to regain his place at the national team.
