Name change for Orapa United

FRANCISTOWN: Premier League outfit, Orapa United is mulling a name change to make the club more appealing. The team is backed by Debswana’s Orapa, Letlhakane and Damtshaa Mines (OLDM).

The mines’ general manager Adrian Gale told the media during a tour last Thursday that stakeholders associated with the club including the supporters, want the name changed to Boteti United.

“Changing the club’s name is something we are seriously looking at. The name of the club may change in the near future if it is deemed appropriate after thorough consultations with stakeholders. The stakeholders feel that Boteti people will better associate with the club when it is called Boteti,” Gale said.
