Parly holds ICT hearings

The Parliamentary portfolio committee on communications, works, transports, technology and ICT will this week hold public hearings on the implementation of Information Communications and Technology (ICT) policies, e-Government strategy roll-out, infrastructure development and accessibility.

The objectives of the hearings, which will be held from 9-11 July, are to strengthen the role of the parliamentarians on ICT matters in order to improve legislative oversight.The hearings will also be expected to contribute to the strengthened implementation of ICT policies through transparent and cohesive decision making processes at national level.The committee will also take submissions on ICT policy and legislative framework implemention.
