OODI: Residents of Oodi in Kgatleng East constituency have reeled out a litany of complaints to their MP Isaac Mabiletsa during a Kgotla meeting this week.

The residents complained that lack of street lights has resulted in robberies and muggings in the village at night. The people demanded that a police station should be built in the village. They complained of bad roads, mainly dusty ones that link Oodi with other villages like Matebele and Dikwididi. They said the roads should be tarred to prevent dust, which they said is not good for their health and their linen. They complained about the dilapidated state of the old clinic and the doctor’s house.

Mabiletsa told the residents that on several occasions, he has raised the issue in Parliament. He said the doctor’s house  is in a bad state and therefore unhealthy for occupation. Mabiletsa said that he once took then Health Assistant Minister, Gaotlhaetse Matlhabaphiri to the place but nothing has changed. He said that a new house should be built for Oodi to have a residential doctor like other villages.
