Botswana National Sports Council (BNSC) and Botswana Rugby Union (BRU) will meet over a dispute, which arose from the hosting of the on-going Confederation of African Rugby (CAR) Division 1C Six Nations tournament.

The BNSC is seething because BRU is hosting the international tournament for the second year running while regulations require a four-year hiatus.  BRU president, Elijah Jones told Mmegi Sport the BNSC has invited them for a meeting to discuss the issue after the tournament ends on Sunday. BNSC refused to assist the rugby body financially to prepare for the CAR tournament. BRU had to turn to CAR and the International Rugby Board for assistance.  Jones said the BNSC has assisted them with transport and they have been allowed to use the National Stadium. Efforts to get a comment from the BNSC were futile at the time of going to press.  Meanwhile, the Vultures, ranked 75th in the IRB rankings, lost 54-9 to South African side, Impala Rustenburg in the Six-Nations tournament on Wednesday.

Jones said the technical department would work on the players’ mistakes before they take on Zambia tomorrow.
