Malebogo Mophalane on Friday scooped top position in the Botswana Confederation of Commerce and Industry and Manpower (BOCCIM)’s Office Managers’ Competition, beating a field of 14 other hopefuls.

The Competition formed part of the annual Office Managers’ Convention held in April, which aims to equip delegates with skills pertinent to their productivity. The convention is designed to help delegates find diverse ways of addressing day-to-day challenges and thus move from solely being business support role-players to business partners.

On Friday, BOCCIM’s Human Resources and Enterprise Development Programmes Officer, Eileen van der Est, said of the 100 delegates who attended the convention, 15 had participated in this competition. Mophalane emerged victorious in the top spot, followed by Thato Kabelo and Tiny Hambira. Mophalane and Hambira both work at the University of Botswana (UB) while Kabelo works at the Brand Botswana. “We only had 15 participants in the competition who underwent a testing process using modern communication methods, office equipment and cutting edge technologies that included computer skills testing as well as a one-on-one interview,” van der Est said, explaining how the winners were eventually chosen.
