FRANCISTOWN: A man lost his life when two vehicles collided on Tuesday night along Francistown–Ramokgwebana Road.

The acting commander of Central Police Station, Edward Leposo told Mmegi that a Toyota Corolla taxi and Toyota Hilux 2.7 were involved in the accident. The deceased was the driver of the taxi. His passenger, together with the female driver of the Hilux, were rushed to hospital with injuries.

“The taxi was coming from the direction of the town and was heading north while the Hilux was entering the city. We do not know yet what could have caused the accident as investigations are still ongoing and we cannot disclose the name of the deceased because we are yet to notify the family,” said Leposo said. The injured were still admitted at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital by yesterday. Leposo said that though accidents along the Francistown–Ramokgwebana Road have declined significantly, this is the second fatal mishap this year.
