Khoemacau to apply for mining license

Copper miner, Khoemacau, plans to apply for a license by September to start explorations in the southern region. Speaking at the resource sector conference on Tuesday, Khoemacau Copper mine country manager, Johannes Tsimako, said their focus is on Zone 5 in the southern region and they are looking forward to submitting the mining license application by September this year.


“We are ready to start mining as soon as we get licensing. We are looking forward to submitting applications by September. We have five prospecting licenses and only one was renewed last year, which is based in Maun, but now our exploration focus is in the southern part of Botswana,” said Tsimako.
